15 month photo shoot

Life feels full speed ahead most days; but why doesn't it on the days when bedtime can't come soon enough?!  Here I am; 6 months after B has turned 1 and I haven't updated anything.  Everyday I think I need to do it and then the thought leaves my mind as fast as it entered it.  I'm hoping I can remember all the milestones my second, sweet baby boy has made.  Each day I am so thankful I was chosen to be his mom.  He has been such a gift to our family.  I love seeing him accomplish new things but it is a double edged sword because I want him to stay my little baby boy.

* He finally accomplished his first step at 15 months and started walking at 16 months.
*The day after he started walking; he said his first word with real intent. The next day he followed with 4 more words.  It was like he was working so hard to walk he wanted to stay focused on that one task; then the could move on to the next.
*His first word with intent; after Mama was Ball.  So fitting because he LOVES balls.  Whenever we see one he points and is drawn to it like a magnet.  He will run straight onto a basketball court with a full game in session to grab one.
*Words in his current vocabulary at 16 months-present: Mama, Dada, Ball, Up, Uh Oh, says Woof when he hears a dog.
*Still using his sign language.  First thing he signs when he wakes up every morning is milk and eat!  He does it over and over until he gets what he wants.
*He impresses everyone with his large receptive language and will nod yes or no to most questions accurately.
*Loves that he now can play on the playground and loves to go down slides.
*Finally around 16 months is becoming a better eater and will throw food on the ground with authority if he doesn't like it.
*Favorite foods: banana bread, bananas, yogurt, eggs, crackers and applesauce.
*Went to school for the first time starting at 15 months and transitioned wonderfully; his teachers adored him.  He was so laid back and go with the flow.  Bri was sad that after a few days he could care less when he left after drop off.
*Is scared of dogs of all sizes.
*Thankfully takes good naps (2-3 hours) but doesn't nap on the go in the car/stroller.
*Wants to be wherever his brother goes.

12 months & beyond.

People are not lying when they say how much effort you put into documenting your first child's life and then when number two comes around it all falls apart.  Have I written about the night of his labor and delivery in his baby book?  No.  Have I documented each month how many teeth he has?  No.  Have I made a new photo book ever 3 months with his photos?  No.

So here I am almost 3 months later attempting to write down some milestones B has hit since turning the big 1 year!

It has been such a different experience with Lil B.  We found out when he was 9 months he has a condition called Erbs Palsy.  Usually this is a labor and delivery related injury but my delivery was not the type that usually results in this injury.  It is essentially a nerve injury in his shoulder.  His presents itself in his inability to use 3 fingers on his right hand.  You would think this is no big deal but it is crazy how something like this really throws off he whole body.  He finally started pulling himself up and creeping the furniture around 12 1/2 months.  Almost 15 months and still not walking yet.  But boy has he become a fast scooter.  We are so happy the progress he has made with weekly occupational therapy and now we will have physical therapy coming to the house twice a month.  We feel so blessed yet again to have such great health care coverage through Brian's work that these added expenses are not burdensome.

Finally around 13 months he has started sleeping through the night but every couple weeks we still get some hiccups since he is still teething.  Weird because R had all his teeth by a year but B had only 8 or so.

- Favorite foods:  Scrambled eggs, banana bread, yogurt and cuties.
-Loves music and pumps his fist in the air whenever he hears it.
-Is pretty scared of dogs; especially little ones.
-Signs he knows; milk, more, eat; although he overuses the sign milk to mean whatever he wants.  Also shakes his head for yes and no.
-No words yet still just baby babble.  Does mama and dada but not in relation to us=).
-Thinks his brother is the funniest person around.
-Hair is still the prettiest shade of red which is constantly commented on by strangers.
-Is my little climber.
