Carl's toy or R's???
We bought this toy for Carl the cat but look who wants to play with it too! Poor Carl can barely get away from R now & also has to share his toys! Hopefully some day he will warm up to his little bro!

11th month
I can't believe we are almost upon Ryden's first birthday. Everyone told me the first year (and years after)would fly by. The first 6 months I didn't believe anyone when they said this because the sleepless days and nights seemed continuous & never ending. I love this little man with all of my being but the lack of sleep this year really wore me down. After that 6 month mark though, time really did speed up and now we have flashed forward to the 11th month mile marker. I can't believe we are at this point already!
What happened to the little baby who slept all the time and just woke up to eat. Now I have a little boy who is always on the go & now throws his food on the ground when feeding himself. Where did my little 6 lb boy go who I could hold with one arm? Now I have a almost 20 lb boy who gives my biceps a workout when I hold him. What happened to the little boy whose only sounds were crying? Now he says mama, baba, dada, "uh oh", laughs,& shreeks. With each new day it gets more fun to see what changes will happen in Ryden.
He continues to be laid back, easy going & curious. His hair is getting blonder & tuffs of curls are starting to appear. He still loves to crawl & isn't showing an interest yet in starting to walk. His face lights up when he sees a dog & can't get enough of chasing after Carl (our cat). He loves to close doors but doesn't like it when he shuts himself in a room. He doesn't like the feeling of grass but loves the feeling of water. I can't wait to learn more about him this month.

Beach part deux
This Memorial Day weekend marked Ryden's second trip to the beach. Two of my dearest friends from college and their awesome husbands came down from Seattle to meet us in Ocean Park.
We were happily surprised at blue skies when we arrived at the beach. You always feel lucky on the Washington coast when you get a blue bird day!
