Dozer Days
We had been anxiously awaiting this event for awhile. R is really into construction vehicles these days and this is such a wonderful event put on by many local companies! Although it rained again this year we had a great time!
Can you tell how excited I am to be here?
Doing what he loves; getting dirty!

Playing on the giant tires with daddy
I was shocked he wanted me to go on this with him instead of daddy; made me feel so good!

First food...
...was oatmeal and he devoured every bite. This look says it all, "mom, you've been holding out on me"!

Garbage Day
Every Friday we are usually still in my bedroom with both boys snuggled into bed along with me. Around 8 am we hear that familiar sound of the garbage man coming down the road. At that moment R usually jumps out of bed in excitement and runs to our window to catch a glimpse of the garbage truck with its mechanical arm. He watches in amazement as the robotic arm picks up the garbage can and shakes the garbage out then gently returns the can to the curb.
This week started what is supposed to be a warm spell. I worry about having Lil Boo Bear out when it is so warm so I decided we should go on a morning walk and watch out for the garbage truck. On our way to the "secret forest" (a place I set as a destination to make R really excited for our walk) we saw the garbage man pull into the neighborhood and R stood frozen watching one of his weekly highlights.
By the time we reached home the recycling truck was starting his rounds on our street. R ran to the rock in our alley and quietly sat to watch it do his job.
This kid is 100 % boy.
Happy Birthday to me.
The day before my birthday was the tragic bombing at the Boston Marathon. It seems so many horrific events have happened around my birthday throughout the years. Virginia Tech, Oklahoma City, Columbine and now this. A birthday already brings upon a moment of reflection for me and when something like this happens it intensifies that need to remember all that his good. Yes, the lack of sleep I am getting sucks but I get to wake up to these sweet faces, a supportive & caring husband and great friends. I got some fun gifts for my birthday but spending another year with the amazing people in my life is the greatest gift.
