It seems like it has been a month; but looking at the calendar I guess it has only been a little over 2 weeks since operation "tough love" went into effect. The last 3 nights lil man has made me sooo proud. It is the first time he has not climbed out of his bed and slept on his mat. I think he is finally feeling at home in his new bed. He also stopped whimpering when we leave the room.
For those of you who will transition your kidlets soon or in the future; I have a book to recommend to you. I found it highly recommended on the internet and it worked perfectly for us since lil man LOVES Elmo. Who doesn't love Elmo???! It is called Big Enough for Bed. It is a simple book that I think really helped Ryden see that even Elmo went through this transition and so can he. He asks for this book to be read every night.
Lil man has also gone potty 4 times in the potty in the last couple weeks! I was not expecting this interest until the way near future but he sees the bigger boys in his toddler class doing it and seems to want to give it a whirl. I felt horrible the first (and only time) he has done it at home. I asked if he wanted to go potty the same time as me before his bath. He nodded so we both sat on our potties. He went and I was so excited I screamed and totally freaked him out. So he jumped off his potty. While we were dumping out the bowl he grabbed the potty base and ran to his bedroom. On his carpet he sat back down and finished his business=). Well at least he gets the point=).
Awesome job Nat! We are so not there in either potty training or bed transition so I'm sure I'll be coming to you for advice later on. For now I just don't want to rock the boat. Definitely getting the Elmo book, thanks for the tip!
