Yackity-Yak

With each passing day Ryden is becoming more vocal, which is awesome to hear his little voice. I'm sure there will be days when I won't have this excitement, for example when he gets to the "no" stage every child seems to go through. Yet today we are enjoying our little conversations and I hope you do too.

Cribbin it

So the day finally came when both Ryden and I were ready for him to be put in his crib. Luckily I can report it was a grand success for Ryden, I am still adjusting, although the second night was already easier than the first. He slept 12 hours his first night in his crib waking up only once to eat at 5am and slept till 8:30am. This is the image I was greeted by when I came to see him in the morning. Don't you love the sleepy eyes, but he still managed to show me his cute lil smile. Way to go Ryden!

Happy Halloween!!!

We were in California for Halloween with Brian's family. It is the first warm Halloween I have ever had. October in Washington is always beautiful but it never fails that when Halloween rolls around it is rainy and cold so it was a great change. It was nice enough that we decided to take Ryden and his cousin Michael who is 20 days younger than him to a couple houses.

Fabulous 4!!!!

Month Four has brought on a lot of change in our boy wonder! Everyday brings a new surprise or new noise, and he is more fun everyday to play with! It also has been a big change for our family, with me going back to work. Our mornings are a little more hectic with getting 3 people ready and out the door on time but so far I can report we are doing pretty good! It has also been an adjustment to have Ryden in someone else's care during the day but we feel blessed to have found a wonderful facility with wonderful, caring people. Luckily he has continued to show his easy going temperament and pretty much goes with the flow. His smile continues to warm me on these increasing cold fall days!

We have a roller!

I have a lot to blog about our recent trip to Cali and Ryden's first plane trip, but that will have to wait for another day this week. Just trying to recover from the vacation. I realized today I should have been recording video's on my still camera, we still need to purchase a video camera but I wanted to document Ryden's new trick! He is officially rolling. I have seen him roll from tummy to back but haven't caught him yet from back to belly. He started doing it this week but only in a stealth manner in the middle of the night. Which sure scared me to find him the first time in the middle of the night on his tummy. Today he finally decided to show off and I caught it on camera! It is amazing how things change so much in a week in the life of an infant. He is soooo active in the middle of the night. I lay him down with his head pointed north and wake up to find his head pointing south. As a parent you truly find so much excitement in the little accomplishments your child makes and before if someone told me their child just started to roll I wouldn't of understood. A new lens to see life!
